Sheshini refused to succeed Yehia
Zamalek former skipper Sami Al-Sheshini revealed that he rejected taking over the role of assistant coach at the club due to his commitments with Modern Sport television channel.

Hollmann's assisting staff was sacked by the club board following the 3-1 loss to Olympic on Sunday, and Al-Sheshini was approached to succeed former assistant Tarek Yehia.

"I asked the club board if they could wait until I end my TV commentating contract with Modern Sport," Al-Sheshini told FilGoal.com on Thursday.

"However, they wanted someone who can start the job immediately and that wasn’t possible for me."

Moemen Soliman was chosen as the club's new assistant; part of a new staff led by former coach Ahmed Refaat as director of football.
