Ahli midfielder Hossam Ashour will most probably miss the Cairo derby against arch-rivals Zamalek on Sunday, as he's yet to recover from a thigh injury.

The Red Devils' medical staff chief Ihab Ali told FilGoal.com that the 23-year-old is unfit to make a comeback within a couple of days.

Ashour, who couldn't take part in the 1-0 loss to Harras Hodoud, sustained the thigh injury during the 1-0 win over Ismaili in the Egyptian Premier League a week ago.

In Ashour's absense, coach Manuel Jose deployed the midfield duo of Ahmed Fathi and Ahmed Hassan against Hodoud.

Adel Sidlined

Meanwhile, Portuguese tactician Jose prevented defender Rami Adel from participating in Friday's training session.

The 30-year-old has recently revealed his intention of moving away from the Cairo Giants, therefore was punished and ruled out of the Zamalek clash.

Previous media reports mentioned that Adel had launched into an argument with his boss, but the former strenuously denied such claims.
