Barcelona maintained their goalscoring blitz as they thrashed Numancia 4-1 to open a 15-point gap with Real Madrid and Sevilla on top of the Primera Liga table.

Despite a goalless first half, the Catalans scored four goals after the break, thanks to Lionel Messi (twice), Samuel Eto'o and Thierry Henry. Jose Barkero scored the visitors' only goal.

Numancia, who stunned Barca in the opening day of the season with a 1-0 victory, finished the game with ten men as Cesar Palacios was dismissed nine minutes from time.

Josep Guardiola's team reached their 53rd point in 20 games, with a remarkable 63 league goals so far this season.
