Sfaxien goalkeeping coach Ihsan Al-Shahat said that his team are looking to get back at Ahli when the two teams meet in the African Super Cup on Friday.

The Tunisians were close to beating Ahli to a CAF Champions League title in 2006, but their hopes were shattered by a stunning Mohamed Abou-Treika volley in the tie’s dying minutes.

“We came to Cairo to beat Ahli and win the Cup. We definitely want to make up for our 2006 Champions League loss,” Al-Shahat told FilGoal.com.

The Confederation Cup winners will be playing their second Super Cup in two years, and Al-Shahat confirmed that confidence is very high within his team’s ranks.

“We are going through a very good phase at the moment, and we’ve been having a run of solid performances.

“I know that Ahli are also doing fine, but we do well away from home and that will be our advantage,” added Al-Shahat.

Ahli reached their third Super Cup in four seasons, after clinching a sixth Champions League trophy in November at the expense of Cotonsport of Cameroon.
