Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is set to make his first appearance for Germany when the Mannschaft take on UAE in a friendly on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old was promised a starting role against the Gulf side by Germany boss Joachim Low.

"It is very likely that Manuel will play the full 90 minutes," Low said ahead of the game in Dubai.

In the same manner, Bayern Munich winger Bastian Schweinsteiger is set to be named captain for the first time, taking over from club mate Philip Lahm.

Lahm wore the captain's armband in the weekend's 1-1 draw with China, as regular skipper Michael Ballack is absent.
