Egypt goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari said that he is delighted to have played his 100th cap for the Pharaohs against Rwanda on July 5th.

"It's a great achievement for any player. I'm so glad to add such a milestone to the many trophies I previously won with Ahli, Egypt or Sion," Al-Hadari told FilGoal.com.

"It's a great end to my season after winning the Swiss Cup with Sion and producing solid performances in the Confederations Cup," he added.

Al-Hadari added that such achievement couldn’t have been reached without the help of Ahli and Egypt goalkeeping coaches Ahmed Nagi and Mohamed Soliman.

The 36-year-old played his first cap for his country 13 years ago during Egypt's 2-0 friendly win over Ghana.

The former Ahli skipper has become the seventh Egyptian to play 100 international caps after Nader Al-Sayed, Hossam Hassan, Ibrahim Hassan, Ahmed Hassan, Hani Ramzi and Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa.
