Portsmouth are negotiating with Amr Zaki over a possible loan move from Zamalek this summer, according to the Premiership club's chairman Soliman Al-Fahim.

"Talks with the player's agent are on and a deal has not been reached yet," Al-Fahim told Emirates Business.

Al-Fahim was reportedly interested in luring the Egypt striker to Fratton Park after taking charge of Pompey recently.

However, Zamalek denied the allegations and confirmed that the Bulldozer is staying in Cairo for the 2009-2010 season.

Zaki has been waiting for offers from Europe during the summer transfer window, but the ex-Wigan hitman received nothing so far.

Despite his dazzling start, the Zak's turbulent spell at JJB has apparently lowered his market price, leaving him with no option but to stay with Zamalek.
