Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri revealed that he has been working on improving the Red Devils' rearguard ahead of their upcoming Egyptian Premier League game with Gaish on September 11th.

"I aim to put an end to our recurrent defensive lapses in the league stoppage period," he told Ahli's official website.

"Over the past three games we made quite some mistakes, and I hope we can learn from them."

Ahli beat Ghazl Mahalla 2-0 in their opening game, before defeating Police Union 2-1.

Later on, they drew 1-1 with Harras Hodoud.

The defending champions are now in second place with seven points, several goals behind leaders Petrojet.

Ahli's absentees Emad Meteb, Mohamed Fadl and Ahmed Belal will undergo rehabilitation during the league break either.

Meteb has been sidelined since April, when he sustained a major knee ligament injury while playing for Saudi giants Ittihad in an Asian Champions League game.

The 26-year-old, who spent last season at Ittihad on a loan basis, is set to return to action against Gaish next month.

On the other hand, Fadl is still suffering a hamstring problem while Belal is yet to overcome a groin injury.
