Ahli defender Ahmed Al-Sayed reiterated that he was going to extend his stay at the Cairo club, and denied refusing to sign a new deal as recently rumored.

It was said that Ahli didn't to meet the 28-year-old's financial demands, which raised doubts over his future with the Red Devils.

However, Al-Sayed reaffirmed his commitment to Ahli, and assured that money is not an issue for him.

"Renewing my contract is only a matter of time, we are still negotiating and trying to work out the details of the deal," he told FilGoal.com.

"But money will never be a reason for me to move away from Ahli."

Al-Sayed's current contract runs out by the end of the season.

Chance

On whether his talks with Ahli's officials resulted in his lack of appearances lately, Al-Sayed said: "No one plays all the time, and I'm not really bothered by that.

"I was named for Ahli's recent matches, I just wasn't given the opportunity to take part.

"As a matter of fact I have a substantial chance to start in the upcoming matches, thanks to Ahli's new formation."

Ahli boss Hossam Al-Badri has been employing a 4-4-2 formation since his appointment in the summer.

He usually deploys Wael Gomaa and Sherif Abdul-Fadil in the heart of defense.
