President Mubarak honors national team

Egypt President Hosni Mubarak received the Egyptian national team at the presidential compound on Monday, following their 1-0 loss to Algeria last week in a World Cup playoff game.

Egypt President Hosni Mubarak received the Egyptian national team at the presidential compound on Monday, following their 1-0 loss to Algeria last week in a World Cup playoff game.

Mubarak expressed his admiration for the Pharaohs' World Cup campaign, despite their disappointing defeat to the Desert Foxes.

Egypt's players and officials, along with National Sports Council chief Hassan Sakr and Egyptian Football Association president Samir Zaher, were also invited to a banquet.

Mubarak was keen to honor the national team to give them a morale boost.
