Mansoura board member Mahmoud Al-Shal refuted reports claiming that keeper Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud had signed for Zamalek.

It was reported that the in-form goalie had penned a pre-contract with the White Knights to join them this winter.

However, Al-Shal stressed that his club were not informed of the deal, saying Aboul-Saoud couldn't have signed for Zamalek without his club's consent.

"We didn't give him the green light to leave, he's still under a contract which runs out after four years," he told FilGoal.com.

"If it turns out that he did sign for Zamalek without our approval, we definitely won't let him go."

Aboul-Saoud drew the attention of several Egyptian top-flight outfits this season after producing a host of scintillating displays.

His consistency also earned him a call-up to the Egyptian national side during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
