Real Madrid suffered their third Primera Liga defeat of the season, losing 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.

A third-minute header from Spain international Fernando Llorente gave Athletic the edge over Manuel Pellegrini's side.

Real remain second of the Liga table with 41 points, two adrift of leaders Barcelona.

Barca take on Sevilla for the third time this month later on Saturday, following two Copa del Rey ties in the recent couple of weeks.
