New Masri manager Mokhtar Mokhtar held on to midfielder Ashour Al-Adham, who was set to join Zamalek.

Al-Adham's move was a part of a swap deal, which would see Ahmed Magdi and Ahmed Al-Merghani go the other way.

But Mokhtar, who was appointed earlier this week, said he won't let any player go without having a meeting with him first.

"I told the club chairman Kamel Abo-Ali that I need to talk to any player who wants to leave," Mokhtar told FilGoal.com.

Abo-Ali now finds himself in an awkward situation, after telling reporters on Sunday that Al-Adham's move is already sealed.

Zamalek are yet to comment on Mokhtar's decision.
