Walid Soliman says he preferred ENPPI over Ahli because the latter were not serious in their bid.

Moving from Petrojet, Soliman agreed a five-year deal with ENPPI on Monday as Ahli missed out on their number one summer target.

"I preferred ENPPI because I felt that Ahli were not serious in their interest, the same goes for Zamalek," Soliman told ENPPI's official site.

"I think ENPPI is a great club that can be ranked among the top teams in Egypt. I hope to help the team achieve something next season."

Controversy surrounded Soliman's future recently as Petrojet were reluctant to sell him to any other club than Petroleum-sector allies ENPPI.

The 25-year-old playmaker, who spent six months on loan at Ahli Jeddah last term, was believed to be desperate to join Egyptian champions Ahli.
