Egypt forward Mohamed Zidan has decided to give his newborn son Adam the Danish nationality, in tribute to his experience in the Scandinavia.

The 28-year-old’s long-term girlfriend Stina Rohde gave birth to Adam on December 17th, before he controversially claimed that the Danish blonde is his wife.

Zidan, who spoke about his admiration to Denmark a couple of years ago, made another controversial statement about his son’s citizenship.

“He is a Danish citizen,” Zidan was quoted as saying by Danish newspaper BT on Monday.

“I had to choose between Germany and Denmark, but I am very proud of my Danish experience, and therefore he will be Danish.”

Furthermore, Zidan spoke about his long-term plan to return to the Danish league, where he originally starred for Midtjylland FC before moving to the Bundesliga.

“I want to return to the Danish league in the future. My heart lies with FCM, but I also keep watching other teams when they play in Europe,” he added.
