Zamalek forward Hussein Yasser is facing a club sanction for missing training without permission, even though he told the first-team doctor about his absence.

According to football director Ibrahim Hassan, the Qatari had informed doctor Mostafa Al-Monayeri about his sickness on Friday, even so the excuse is not enough for the Zamalek management.

“A permission to skip training comes either from me or from Hossam (coach), therefore Yasser will be sanctioned according to the regulations,” Ibrahim Hassan told FilGoal.com.

Yasser has hardly had a clean disciplinary record since joining Zamalek last year, having been involved in several disputes with the Hassans.

The 28-year-old frustrated his employers when he joined the Qatar squad in last year’s Gulf Cup of Nations tournament in Yemen, shortly before playing in the Asian Cup on home soil.

Zamalek’s reluctance to release him for international duty resulted in a conflict with the Qatari FA, who eventually had to pay the Egyptian club compensation in December.
