The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided not to hold the U-19 Nations Cup in Libya because of the current turmoil in the country.

Demonstrations against incumbent president Muammar Al-Gaddafi broke out in Libya, which prompted hundreds of deaths over the past days.

Libya was the host country of the U-19 Nations Cup, which gets underway on 18 March, but now the competition will take place elsewhere.

"Hani Abou-Rida informed me of CAF's decision," Egypt U-19 coach Dyaa Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com.

"The new host country should be determined within a week."
