Egypt and Petrojet striker Sayed Hamdi revealed that Ahli have approached him, implying he would like to join his ‘favorite’ club.

“Two officials from Ahli open talks with me before I traveled with the national team to South Africa, but I told them they must contact Petrojet first,” he told FilGoal.com.

“It’s an honor to play for Ahli, it has been my favorite club since I was a child.”

Hamdi’s contract with Petrojet runs out by the summer of 2012 as Zamalek are also interested in his services.

The 27-year-old striker started for Egypt in the recent qualifier in South Africa after impressing during January’s friendly Nile Basin Tournament on home soil.
