The on-fire Harras Hodoud snatched second place from Zamalek after the Whites succumbed to a 2-1 home defeat to Police Union in the finale of the Egyptian Premier League’s sixth round.

Hassan Shehata’s Zamalek suffered their first defeat of the season in a match that was supposed to be staged behind closed doors, only to be marred by an early incident of breaking and entering from the home fans.

In Alexandria, Hodoud grabbed their fourth win in a row after battering Military Production 3-0, with goals from Ahmed Abdul-Ghani, Ahmed Safi and Ahmed Mekki.

Smouha remained win-less after losing 2-1 at Bani Suef Telephones, who were lifted by goals from Mostafa Mehanna and Drissa Bamba.

In Suez, Petrojet were held to a 1-1 draw by Gaish, with Kamal Ali cancelling out Abou Kone’s opener for the visitors.
