Masri playmaker Mahmoud Abdul-Hakim categorically denied signing for Zamalek amid the Whites interest in his services.

Abdul-Hakim, who has a year to run on his contract with the beleaguered Masri, admitted unofficial talks with Zamalek but insists that a deal has yet to be agreed.

“I did not sign for Zamalek as rumored; how could that happen and I still have a year left on my contract with Masri?” The 34-year-old told FilGoal.com.

“The whole matter is not more than a phone call with Zamalek board member Abdullah George but people like to exaggerate issues like that.

“I am tied down to Masri as I cannot leave without their consent.”

Abdul-Hakim, along with several other Masri players, are poised to leave Port-Said as the future of the coastal club remains uncertain following the infamous February disaster.
