Long-serving Barnsley defender Bobby Hassell is delighted with the club’s summer signings as he labeled the deal with Mido 'unbelievable'.

Egyptian striker Mido joined the Championship side on a free transfer after being released by Zamalek, in what will be his first-ever spell with a lower division club.

"We've made some great singings," the 32-year-old Hassell told Barnsley’s website.

"Obviously Mido coming in, it's an unbelievable signing and again he's coming to play under the right manager.

"The fans will be looking forward to it (the new season). We still need two or three, which the gaffer will know."

Barnsley, who finished just one place above the bottom three last term, open their new season with an away match against Mido’s former club Middlesbrough on August 18.
