Egyptian wrestler Karam Gaber has set the record straight that he will not represent any other nation at the Olympics despite falling out with wrestling officials in his homeland.

Gaber’s brother and personal trainer revealed a few days ago that the two-time Olympic medalist is considering an offer to play for Qatar after being 'treated unfairly' by his country.

But the 32-year-old has decided to close the case by making a pledge to Egypt.

“I will only play for Egypt and that’s a final decision,” Gaber told FilGoal.com.

“I don’t want to talk about this story anymore. I am an Egyptian, I love my country and no one can doubt that.”

Gaber became the most successful athlete in Egypt’s history by winning the silver medal at the London Games earlier this month, eight years after clinching gold in Athens.

Despite his age, the Alexandria-born wrestler is willing to compete in the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
