Mido made a long-awaited Barnsley debut but saw his team suffer a fourth straight league defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town.

Jermaine Beckford scored the only goal of the game after 36 minutes as Mido came after the hour-mark to replace Kelvin Etuhu.

But the Egyptian was booked after only one minute of his introduction and couldn’t help Keith Hill’s side avoid another Championship defeat.

Barnsley are third from bottom, only two points off the relegation zone as pressure grows on manager Hill, who is without a win in six games.

Elmo also lose

Elsewhere, Egypt full-back Ahmed Elmohamady’s Hull City lose 2-1 at close rivals Cardiff and missed out on moving third.

Adam El-Abd’s Brighton & Hove drew 3-3 at Wolves in a thrilling match that included two goals in the final minute, with Roger Johnson snatching the point for the hosts.
