The future of Hossam Ghaly with Ahli is contingent to ‘what happens in Egypt’ after the imminent political uprising at the end of the month.

Egypt is braced for a crucial phase as opposition parties prepare for massive nationwide demonstrations on June 30.

The looming protests prompted authorities to postpone Egyptian league matches as Ahli captain Ghaly is not yet decided on whether to stay in Egypt or move to a foreign club.

“The situation doesn’t look good. It isn’t clear whether football activity will be postponed, resumed or completely called off,” Ghaly told Ahli’s website.

“I said before that I want to go abroad this summer and I actually have some good offers, yet I could still stay with Ahli if things looked better.

“My final decision depends on what happens in Egypt after June 30.”

Ghaly, 31, will run out of contract by the end of the current season.
