Mido happy for Ghaly

Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn with German side Bayer Leverkusen and Turkish powerhouse Besiktas in a tough Group B of the UEFA Cup on Tuesday.

The North London side, for whom Egyptian internationals Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and Hossam Ghaly play, will have also to play Belgium's Club Brugge and Romanian giants Dinamo Bucharest.

Egypt goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami and his Dutch side Feyenoord have been handed a relatively easier draw, having been placed in Group E.

They will take on Premiership mid-table side Blackburn Rovers, Swiss club Basel, Poland's Wisla and Nancy of France.

Teams in the eight groups will face each other only once, with three sides advancing from each group.

They will be joined by third-place clubs competing currently in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League to complete the spots of the round of 32.

Mohamed Zidan's Werder Bremen and Ahmed Hassan's Anderlecht could be joining their Egypt mates as their teams failed to impress in two matches so far in the Champions League.

Bremen registered one point from two games after losing to Chelsea away and tying holders Barcelona at home.

Anderlecht collected two points from draws with Lille and AEK Athens but will be facing title contenders Milan in two successive games.
