Masri board has appointed former star Tarek Soliman as the club's new manager while former Egypt defender Ibarhim Hassan has been named football director.

Soliman was supposed to join the technical staff commanded by former coach Mimi Abdul-Razeq but the latter handed his resignation in protest over the board's decision.

Soliman, who was coaching Saudi second division side Ohod, is set to take charge of the Port said-based club until the end of the season in a bid to save the team from relegation.

Team supervisor Ibarhim Al-Masri also refused to continue his spell with the club after the technical renovation and as a result, former Egypt star Hassan stepped up to be team's football director.

Abdul-Razeq took charge of the unstable Masri side for three distinct times this season, succeeding Mohamed Salah, Alexander Moldovan and Mohamed Omar respectively.

Al-Masri are currently 13th in the Egyptian League with 25 points, just four above the relegation zone with six matches to go.
