Sao Paolo teenager Alexandre Pato is finally set to join European champions AC Milan, the Serie A side announced on Saturday.

The 17-year old Brazilian striker nicknamed 'Alex the Duck' has been targeted by major European clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, but the Rossoneri finally won the race to sign him.

"The great talent Alexandre Pato will train with Milan and will be able to play friendly matches from the 3rd of September 2007, from the 3rd of January 2008 onwards he will also be able to play in the official games," read a statement on Milan's Web site.

Italian media reports suggested that Pato will sign a five-year deal worth 22million Euros at the San Siro.

Pato grabbed the attentions after he starred for Brazil in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada this summer, and he was also part of the Sao Paolo side which was crowned FIFA World Club Cup champions last year.
