"Our performance isn't promising at all and the results show that we won't be able to end our title-drought continuing for three years now," Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com.

The 29-year-old international made his second start of the season during Zamalek's 2-1 defeat against Al-Gaish on Wednesday.

He put on a poor display and scored an own goal as Zamalek received their third defeat in six matches.

"I don't know when we would be back on the right track. The board provided all what the team needed but it is in vain. May be it is time to quit."

Al-Sayed, who signed a four-year contract with Zamalek last season, isn't the first to issue this threat.

Captian Hazem Emam and veteran striker Abdul-Halim Ali also announced they would hang up their boots before making U-turns.

Zamalek are in seventh place on nine points, leading newly-promoted Egypt Telecom on goal difference.
