Esperance have been reportedly bidding for Merrikh's playmaker Faisal Agab to sign him when the transfer window re-opens in January.

"Esperance bosses contacted us bidding for Agab but we will wait for an official offer before taking any decisions," Merrikh President Gamal Al-Wali told daily newspaper Al-Mashahir on Thursday.

"It's hard to let him go as he is our source of inspiration," added Al-Wali.

The Tunisian press have revealed that Esperance are chasing Agab to add more strength and talent to their reshuffled squad.

The Merrikh forward had an impressive year as he led his club to the final of the CAF Confederations Cup scoring five goals in the competition. He was a key figure in Sudan's squad that reached the African Nations Cup finals for the first time in 32 years.
