Attwa, 21, went on trial with Belgian second division side Lierse, amid speculation that he moved without Ahli's consent.

"Attwa did not run away, he is not even registered with Ahli because he failed to take part in training since the beginning of the season," Mabrouk told FilGoal.com.

"He has the right to move to whatever club he wants. He persistently said he wanted to leave and I wish him good luck."

Attwa was on the brink of joining Zamalek last summer, but Ahli refused to acknowledge the move.

He has previously stated that he has no intention to play for Ahli again, saying he would either start a new adventure with Zamalek or carry on his career abroad.
