England were hit by another injury setback as striker Darren Bent was ruled out of Wednesday's World Cup qualifier with Ukraine.

The Tottenham forward, who was just recalled to replace the injured Emile Heskey at the weekend, limped off Tuesday's training session with a knee problem.

England coach Fabio Capello confirmed the fresh blow as he had to recall Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor for Bent.

"He was feeling more pain in the warm-up this morning and stopped. I have called up Agbonlahor but I will start with Peter Crouch in attack," Capello told reporters at England's training camp.

England, who are already without Spurs ace Jermain Defoe, have also lost striker Carlton Cole to injury after the 4-0 drubbing of Slovakia.

Portsmouth hitman Crouch is now set to partner Wayne Rooney upfront after recovering from a knock in the weekend friendly win.

The Three Lions were also boosted by the news that Manchester United center-half Rio Ferdinand is ready to play against Ukraine at Wembley, following a back problem.
