Egypt's Emad Meteb is partnering Amr Zaki upfront against Algeria in Wednesday's World Cup playoff game.

Influential midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou is benched although he has already recuperated from his ankle injury.

Ahmed Fathi and Ahmed Hassan are both deployed in the heart of midfield.

As expected, Ahmed Al-Muhammadi plays as a right winger, while wide man Sayed Moawaad plays on the left flank.

On the other hand, Algeria coach Rabah Saadane plays a strike partnership consisting of Rafik Saifi and Abdelkader Ghezza.

The Algerian tactician employed a 3-5-2 formation instead of 4-4-2, which he deployed in Saturday's encounter which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Pharaohs.
