Zamalek called on the Egyptian FA to replay their game with Harras Hodoud because Ahmed Eid was 'suspended and not eligible to play'.

Eid played the whole 90 minutes and opened the scoring right after the break, to help his side beat the White Knights 2-1 in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

The talented forward was sent off in the dying minutes of Hodoud's 2-0 defeat to Arab Contractors on November 25th for his inappropriate conduct.

The Egyptian FA's rules stipulate that such a dismissal should result in a two-match ban.

However, Eid was suspended for a single match.

After missing Hodoud's 1-0 loss to Ittihad three days later through automatic suspension, the competitions committee gave him the green light to make the squad against Zamalek.

Consequently, the Cairo side filed a complaint and demanded a fast response.

"Either the match should be replayed, or we claim all three points because Eid was suspended and not eligible to play," a statement on Zamalek's official site read.

"This problem will be escalated to (world governing body) FIFA if the Egyptian FA take no action before the Cairo derby against Ahli on Tuesday."

At the other end, Egyptian FA president Samir Zaher assured that Zamalek's complaint is seriously looked into.

"I'm personally keen to sort this out," he told Dream TV.

"Apparently, whoever decided to allow Eid to feature against Zamalek was on a hurry, and this person will definitely be punished for making this decision."
