Zamalek have reached an agreement with Military Production to sign striker Abou Kone in the summer, the club's football director Ibrahim Hassan said on Friday.

The Cairo side sought to acquire Kone's services in the January transfer window but the deal eventually fell through.

However, they continued to track the Ivorian to fill the void left by the departure of Mido and Amr Zaki to English sides West Ham and Hull City respectively.

"Production have agreed to let us sign Kone," Hassan, the twin brother of Zamalek head coach Hossam Hassan, told FilGoal.com.

"The player has a $500,000-buyout clause that he will invoke to join us at the end of the season.

"Production declined to release him in January but he will be with us next season."

Hossam Hassan is relying on Ahmed Gaafar as a lone striker due to shortage of options upfront.

He admitted that the departure of Mido and Zaki have diminished his side's goalscoring prowess despite their fine run in the Egyptian Premier League.

Zamalek, who will be looking to extend their winning streak to seven matches when they face Petrojet on Sunday, lie fifth in the table with 39 points, ten behind leaders Ahli who played a game more.
