Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo' was replaced in the first half of Ittihad's 2-0 league defeat by Military Production on Friday due to a chest injury.

The Egypt forward, who was lively in the early stages, had to leave the pitch in the 29th minute after a collision with a Production defender.

Geddo is highly unlikely to play in Ittihad's next game against Ghazl Mahalla on Wednesday, according to team doctor Mamdouh Al-Yamani.

"He will undergo scans to find out the extent of the injury," Al-Yamani added.

Ittihad struggled without his presence to concede two goals and lose for the third time in their last four matches.

In-form striker Abou Kone, who has seemingly put his injury problems behind him, opened the scoring on the half-hour mark.

The Ivorian escaped the attention of his marker to head home a right-wing cross from close range for his fourth goal of the season.

Kone is widely expected to join Cairo giants Zamalek at the end of the season.

Attacking midfielder Sameh Adrous wrapped up Production's win with two minutes remaining when he intercepted a poor headed pass from Ittihad defender Mohamed Gaber to his keeper to notch home with aplomb.

The in-form Production, who earn plaudits for their stunning results in their first season in the top flight, are fifth in the league table 34 points, three behind fourth-placed Ismaili who have a game in hand.

Ittihad, who are unlikely to be involved in the relegation battle after producing fine results under Brazilian coach Carlos Cabral, are eighth with 29 points, eight above the danger zone.
