Police Union's Nigerian striker Minusu Buba did so well last season that Ismaili are seeking to sign him in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old earned plaudits for a string of impressive displays that helped him finish on top of the Egyptian Premier League scorers' chart with 14 goals.

Police finished fifth for their best ever position but it remains to be seen whether they could hold onto their prized asset.

"We need to strengthen our attack because we were not good upfront last season. That's why we want to sign Buba," Ismaili football director Hammad Mousa told FilGoal.com.

Ismaili strikers scored just nine goals between them throughout the season as the team finished third in the league.

Eight goals out of the nine were scored by Ahmed Ali, who hardly found a reliable partner.

Tunisian Mohamed Selliti has failed to live up to expectations since joining Ismaili in the summer of 2009. He is expected to depart following the end of the Egyptian Cup.

Buba, who also played for Suez Cement, Arab Contractors and ENPPI in Egypt, could be an ideal choice for Ismaili.

"We are expected to sign him but we are waiting for the technical staff's end-of-season report," Mousa added.
