Real Madrid said they would unveil Jose Mourinho as their new coach on Monday after agreeing compensation with Inter Milan.

Inter president Massimo Moratti and his Real counterpart Florentino Perez met in Milan to work out the deal that will see Mourinho join the Spanish giants after a very successful season with the Nerazzurri.

The Italian side did not disclose the amount of compensation agreed but reports said that they would receive eight million euros to free Mourinho.

The Portuguese tactician won the Serie A in his first season with Inter before guiding them to an unprecedented treble for Italian teams the following term.

They retained their league crown and won the Italian Cup and the European champions League in a season to remember.

Real sacked Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini after enduring a trophyless season.

They finished runners-up to arch-rivals Barcelona in the Primera Liga, were embarrassed by third-tier Alcorcon in the King's Cup and dumped out of the Champions League by Lyon at the last 16 stage.
