Beleaguered European giants France have recorded a vital 2-0 victory in Bosnia to give new manager Laurent Blanc his first win with the team.

Les Bleus, who shockingly lost at home to Belarus in their opening EURO 2012 qualifiers, came back to down the Bosnians with goals from Karim Benzema and Florent Malouda.

"This was the most important goal I ever scored," Real Madrid striker Benzema told reporters. "

"It’s always a pleasure to score in that type of match, even more because so much was expected from France and myself."

Elsewhere, England beat ten-man Switzerland 3-1 away, with goals from crisis-hit Wayne Rooney, Adam Johnson and Darren Bent.

Holland beat Finland 2-1, while Italy and Germany thumped minnows Faroe Islands and Azerbaijan with easy home wins.
