Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan slammed Iraqi striker Emad Mohamed on Thursday after reports said he wanted to leave the club.

Iraqi reports said on Wednesday that Emad is negotiating a move to Iranian side Esteghlal.

The 28-year-old is believed to be unhappy at lack of first-team opportunities with Zamalek, the club he joined in the close season after his contract with Iran's Sepahan Esfahan expired.

"Emad's travel to Iran shows that he knows nothing about the regulations because he still has three years to run on his contract with Zamalek," Ibrahim Hassan, the twin brother of head coach Hossam, told FilGoal.com.

"He should have respected the club's board and technical staff. He should have informed us of his wish to depart."

Emad has made few substitute appearances so far this season but showed glimpses of his talent despite playing as a winger, a position he is not accustomed to.

Coach Hossam Hassan prefers to field Amr Zaki and Ivorian Abou Kone, who also joined Zamalek in the close season, upfront.

"If Emad does not want to continue here we can let him leave, but we should receive an offer and discuss it first," Ibrahim Hassan added.
