Burrows, who plays for Glentoran, found the net against Portadown with a stunning backheel volley earlier this month, but it turned out to be more than a goal scored.

The 24-year-old was left astounded by the applaud he received after his goal, denoted by the huge number of views on YouTube.

"It’s incredible really and I couldn’t believe it when someone told me that it had gone up to over a million hits," said Burrows before realizing that his goal is now on 3million hits and counting.

"I got loads of messages and people were phoning me up saying that thousands and thousands of people had seen it on the internet and that all these newspapers and TV stations all over the world were putting it on their sites."

The goal
