Harras Hodoud chairman Abdul-Hakim Mosalam hit out at Tarek Al-Ashri for announcing his resignation on live television without informing the club's officials first.

After the military side's 1-0 league win over promoted Wadi Degla, Al-Ashri told Modern TV that he had stepped down from his role due to disagreements with the club's board.

The highly-rated tactician said Hodoud promised to double the players' bonus for league victories but didn't live up to their word after Thursday's win, which prompted him to resign.

Mosalam believes Al-Ashri should have met with the board of directors before quitting his job, saying he hasn't officially resigned as Hodoud manager.

"He hasn't officially handed in his resignation, we just knew about it from the media," he told FilGoal.com.

"This is definitely inappropriate for a big club like Harras Hodoud."

Mosalam is also convinced that Al-Ashri's abrupt decision won't take a toll on the team's league campaign.

"I attended the training session on Saturday. Al-Ashri wasn't there and the rest of the technical staff oversaw it," he said.

"His departure won't affect our league campaign. The coaching staff are capable of leading the team on their own."

Al-Ashri is credited with turning around the fortunes of Hodoud, who used to be a modest team prior to his arrival in 2006.

The military club won the Egyptian Cup in 2009 and 2010 at the expense of ENPPI and Ahli respectively under the guidance of Al-Ashri.

They also clinched the Super Cup title last year after overcoming Cairo giants Ahli.

Last season, Al-Ashri handed in his resignation before backtracking on his decision to leave.
