Singuluma told reporters last week that he is on the verge of signing for Ahli to join the club in January, after Mazembe's Club World Cup campaign.

"We cannot deny our interest in Singuluma or the fact that he is our number one target in the meantime, but no agreement has been met with him yet," Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com.

Singuluma scored five goals for Mazembe in this season's Champions League to help his team retain the African title.

The 24-year-old will replace either Amir Sayoud, Francis Doe or Mohamed Ghaddar, should he completes the winter switch to Cairo.

Ahli have already re-signed Egypt striker Emad Meteb from Standard Liege.
