Zamalek decided not to sign Olympic goalie Mahmoud Abdul-Rahim 'Gennesh' after both clubs failed to reach an agreement.

"We backtracked on our decision to sign Gennesh when Olympic said they wanted EGP two million for his services," Zamalek president Galal Ibrahim told FilGoal.com.

"They also wanted to acquire Hossam Arafat and another player whom they didn't name on a loan basis in the same part-exchange deal.

"Their financial demands didn't suit us while head coach Hossam Hassan is keen to keep hold of all his players."

Zamalek are in dire need of a new goalkeeper to play second fiddle to number one Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, following the departure of Essam Al-Hadari to Merreikh.

The Whites were about to land Palestine goalie Ramzi Saleh of late but eventually backed out of the deal.
