Bahrain outclassed India 5-2 in an AFC Asian Cup match that saw Ismaeel Abdullatif hit four goals on Friday.

Faouzi Aaish put the Gulf side ahead only after eight minutes upon converting a penalty kick but Gouramangi Singh brought the score level seconds later.

Abdullatif bagged a hat-trick in the first half (16, 20 and 35) to leave the Indians with a mountain to climb.

Sunil Chhetri pulled one back for India in the 53rd minute but Bahrain regained their three-goal advantage when Abdullatif completed the rout 12 minutes from time.

Bahrain played for around half an hour with ten men as Faouzi Aaish received his marching orders shortly past the hour mark.

Now Bahrain are in Group C third place with three point, one behind Austaralia and South Korea who played out a 1-1 draw earlier in the day.

India lie at the bottom of the group with no points.
