Wednesday’s league game between Masri and Ahli was followed by deadly clashes organized by the home fans, resulting in the death of 74 people at Port-Said Stadium.

Al-Ganzouri announced the decision in a brief speech at the People’s Assembly on Thursday, adding that Samir Zaher’s board will be put under immediate investigation.

Zaher, who was in charge of the FA until a few minutes ago, announced suspending the domestic league indefinitely hours after the disaster.

But his decision did not spare him as it is the second time for Al-Ganzouri to fire Zaher, who was had been relieved of his duties by the same minister in 1999.

Al-Ganzouri also announced sacking Port-Said governor Ahmed Abdullah and suspending the city’s chief of security and chief of police.
