Zamalek youngster Mohamed Ibrahim has been handed a four-match ban for making an inappropriate gesture toward Masri fans in Saturday’s league defeat.

The sanction announced by the FA’s disciplinary committee means that the 18-year-old will not play against this term, with four weeks to go.

Ibrahim reacted angrily to taunts from the Masri fans following his substitution in the 2-0 defeat, showing the home supporters his middle finger at Port-Said Stadium.

The attacking midfielder said he is ready to accept any punishment, but is expecting action against Masri for their fans’ hostile behavior.

The Port-Said club were indeed sanctioned after their fans used excessive fireworks, but not for their offensive chants.

Taha Basri’s team will play their next home game against Arab Contractors away from Port-Said.

In the same context, Ismaili winger Omar Gamal has been suspended for two games after being sent off in his side’s 2-1 defeat at Ahli.

Gamal, who didn’t feature in the match, was shown the red card for kicking a bottle toward the fourth official after Mohamed Barakat’s opener for Ahli.
