Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssef says the Whites management is facing a conspiracy as he questioned the timing of Shikabala’s alleged apology.
The saga involving Shikabala witnessed another episode this week as the controversial midfield star issued a statement of apology for his infamous outburst at manager Hassan Shehata back in May.
However, the Zamalek management did not acknowledge Shikabala’s apology as coach Youssef revealed that no message was officially received from the player.
While rebuffing claims that the flamboyant number 10 will be back for the next game against Ahli, Youssef implied that Shika could be involved in a conspiracy against Shehata’s staff.
“Shikabala is totally out of our plans for the Ahli game. We will continue to rely on the squad available,” former Egypt midfielder Youssef told FilGoal.com.
“I just have a question that needs an answer from Shikabala. Why did he choose this time to apologize?
“Why specifically after our defeat to Chelsea and before the Ahli game?
“I think there is a conspiracy against the Zamalek managing staff. We will discover it and we will reveal the details at the right time.”
Youssef said last month that the Zamalek management was expecting a swift apology from Shikabala after the incident of the Maghreb Fes game, but the Egypt international opted to remain silent.
Shikabala, 26, is currently loan-listed by Zamalek who have been looking for possible suitors to sign him after manager Shehata refused to have him in his squad for next season.
