Egypt’s proposed friendly meeting with Saudi Arabia next month could be called off after a ‘financial disagreement’, FA spokesman Azmi Megahed revealed.
“There is a disagreement on financial terms that threatens the game,” Megahed told FilGoal.com.
The match was supposed to take place on September 11 in London as both sides have no international commitments in the near future.
Egypt’s next competitive game takes place in March 2013 after the seven-time African champions had failed to make it past the CAN 2013 qualifying preliminaries.
Similarly, Saudi Arabia couldn’t make it to the 2014 World Cup final qualifiers and are inactive in the meantime.
