Zamalek defender fears 'lucky Geddo'

Zamalek defender Salah Soliman is anything but anxious ahead of his first Cairo derby but is only concerned by the good fortune of Ahli striker Geddo.

Soliman, 22, returns from suspension to boost the Zamalek defense in next Sunday’s Champions League clash as he feels no pressure to face the record six-time African champs.

“I am happy to be playing my first Cairo derby and I don’t feel any pressure because I am used to facing Ahli when I played for Ghazl Mahalla,” Soliman, the youngest member of Zamalek’s defense, told reporters.

“I don’t believe Ahli are the same strong team that used to be. I only feel worried when Geddo gets lucky!”

Geddo came off the bench to clinch a precious winner for Ahli in the recent 2-1 win over Mazembe, courtesy of a 90th minute strike.

Meanwhile, Zamalek duo Amr Zaki and Mahmoud Fathallah will have fitness tests this week after suffering minor injuries in a friendly game with MCDR.
