Zamalek boss Hassan Shehata hopes arch-rivals Ahli win against Mazembe as the Whites prepare to take on Ghana’s Chelsea in the Champions League group stage.
While two teams will get through the crunch Group B, Shehata believes that the success of Cairo’s top duo would mean benefit to Egyptian football.
“I hope Ahli win of course. Ahli and Zamalek represent Egyptian football in the African competition,” the former Egypt coach told Zamalek’s website.
“I think Ahli and Zamalek are like a breather for Egyptian fans with all football activities suspended.
“I promise Zamalek fans we’ll do our best to win against Chelsea in order to keep on going in Africa.”
